A unique place,
a unique aroma.
While discovering and learning about the complex aromas of vanilla, we found an opportunity to contribute to the future of the community we are living in.
Our Story
Inspired by nature, guided by science
Selvanila was born while studying the intriguing ecology and cultivation potential of wild Vanilla species. Thanks to this research, we gained a better understanding of where vanilla naturally thrives, what it needs to grow and flourish, and how to unlock its full aromatic potential.
We envisioned a sustainable vanilla supply chain where biodiversity conservation and local economic growth reinforce one another. By working closely with farmers across the South Pacific region, Selva Nila seeks to contribute to a more resilient future for both the community and the incredibly diverse ecosystem we are living in.

Agroforestry systems
Every vanilla plantation – including the model farm – was developed to create resilient, diversified agrosystems. The flexible designs allow farmers to adapt their land to their own needs and interests, integrating other cash crops such as cacao alongside food crops including bananas, fruit trees, as well as native timber species.
To support this regenerative approach, the biofertilizers used for plant nutrition and pest control are produced locally at the cooperative shared by the partnering vanilla farmers, reinforcing both sustainability and community self-reliance.
"The forest is not a backdrop to our work. It is our partner."

Our partners
The people behind each vanilla bean
As our vision grew, so did our partnership with a cooperative of committed farmers who share the belief that protecting biodiversity and producing vanilla can go hand in hand.
Today, this cooperation stands at the heart of the supply chain, providing farmers with training, technical support, and access to the resources needed to cultivate vanilla with care and consistency.
More than a supply chain, this is a long-term partnership built on trust, supporting smallholder farmers while ensuring the traceability of every bean produced.
